This image of a bison is from the Chauvet Cave in southern France, an iconic World Heritage site. It depicts a running bison painted by Stone Age artists showing animal movement using a clever trick, according to experts. An “eight-legged bison” seems to be depicted from superimposing two images of the creature in different stances to create the appearance of running. This technique, sometimes called “stone age animation”, involves placing multiple images or using multiple strokes to show movement, which has led some to theorize the cave was similar to an ancient "movie theater”. Our 1-inch thick, polished blocks are crafted using a unique casting method that ensures crystal-clear, deep, and realistic images. The Giclee process is used to create the print, and it’s been enlarged for an unforgettable viewing experience. These look great on desks, shelves (see pictures) or tables, and also make superb gifts
