This rare specimen features opal from New South Wales, Australia, that has replaced a mineral called ikaite, forming an appealing shape resembling a pineapple. The specimen is now housed with the Harvard Geological and Mineralogical Museum, but is rarely seen. The print is created by the artisan Giclee process, enlarged for a superb viewing experience. These 1” thick polished blocks stand upright on flat surfaces and are made from a superior cast method for clarity, depth and realism. Makes a stunning showpiece on shelf, desk, table!
