This attractive opal comes from the famous Andamooka Opal fields of Australia discovered around 1930. The word Andamooka is derived from an Aboriginal name, meaning ‘Large Waterhole’, a small town with no street names situated 600 kilometres north of Adelaide, Australia. This splotchy opal might have been created by children having fun by randomly throwing balls covered in wet paint at a target. It is viewed within an 1” thick polished acrylic block that stands upright on flat surfaces. It is made from a superior cast method for clarity, depth and realism. The image in the print is created by Giclee process and has been enlarged for a superb viewing experience. Makes a stunning showpiece on shelf, desk, table! Photo credit: Klaus Schäfer
