This attractive opal comes from the famous Andamooka Opal fields of Australia discovered around 1930. The word Andamooka is derived from an Aboriginal name, meaning ‘Large Waterhole’, a small town with no street names situated 600 kilometres north of Adelaide, Australia. This splotchy opal might have been created by children throwing balls covered in wet paint at a target. It is viewed within an 1” thick polished acrylic block that stands upright on flat surfaces. It is made from a superior cast method for clarity, depth and realism. The image in the print is created by Giclee process and has been enlarged for a superb viewing experience. Makes a stunning showpiece on shelf, desk, table! Photo credit: Klaus Schäfer
